Bike route with children in Urdaibai

Ekoetxea Urdaibai (Madariaga Tower)

A cycling excursion that starts in Gernika-Lumo and goes to Ekoetxea Urdaibai, the centre of biodiversity in the Basque Country.

It’s a very quiet and easy route that runs along wide pavements with a cycle lane and the occasional country lane.

Along the route you’ll pass through the towns of Forua, Murueta, and Busturia, where you can stop off to visit some of their points of interest or to allow the little ones to enjoy the children’s playgrounds.

You can return to Gernika via San Cristóbal and retrace the same route, or you can take the bus or train back.
