A family trip around Kanpatxu
The Tour of Kanpantxu route will allow you to discover the beauty of the rural landscape of Urdaibai, where you can see beautiful farmhouses, the landscape of the Atlantic countryside, the Berrekondo stream, as well as some of the mills and ironworks that once stood on its banks.
After the climb up to the Eperlanda crossroads, the path descends through the main village of Kanpantxu. There you can visit the hermitage and enjoy its pelota court or games area.

What can you see on the route?
Over time, ongoing agricultural and livestock farming activity has created the ecosystem we know as the Atlantic countryside of Urdaibai, which includes meadows, crops, streams, hedgerows, and copses.
On this route you’ll also pass by the Aristieta Palace, a 12th-century palace that’s now a farmhouse, and several old water mills, such as Goikoerrota and Estillotza.
