What can you see on the route?

You can enjoy the best panoramic view of our coastline from the Matxitxako lighthouse, as it’s the most northerly cape in the Basque Country.

On clear days you can see the Cantabrian and French coasts, and closer, the islet of San Juan de Gaztelugatxe and Aketze to the west and Izaro and the rock of Ogoño to the east.

From the San Pelaio pass viewpoint (319 m), there are also beautiful views of the Cantabrian Sea.
