Oiz Challenge: Oiz Long Distance Challenge
The long route of the Oiz Challenge bicycle touring event that is held every year in June in the Urdaibai area.
A huge challenge covering 164 kilometres and 3,120 metres of accumulated positive difference in altitude that you’ll have to face in continuous slopes and, as a finishing touch, the ascent to the summit of Mount Oiz, featuring climbs with slopes of up to 24%.
This is undoubtedly a challenge only for the best prepared.

What to see on the route?
This route has it all. First of all, you’ll enjoy the beautiful coastal roads and pass through some of the most iconic spots in Urdaibai, such as Arteaga Castle, the beaches of Laida and Laga or San Juan de Gaztelugatxe…and at the same time you’ll face steep slopes, mainly with the climb to the colossal Mount Oiz.
