Bermeo - Urdaibai Extrem Passes
This route is a proposal by the professional cyclist Bingen Fernández, originally from Bermeo, to discover the best and steepest climbs from his home town, which add up to nearly 2,100 metres of elevation difference in an excursion of only 70 kilometres that starts over and over again from sea level. Your compact gearing will be put to good use.
This is what Bingen has to say:
“A route without traffic, very tough, lovely to ride, and also ideal to prepare for a big tour. If you need a place to improve your form, we have it in Urdaibai; I encourage you to follow this route. Where heaven meets hell!!!”.

Along this route, Bingen takes us to reach the top of the point known as the Cannon de Sollube three times, where the Cannon Etxea restaurant is located.
It’s well worth taking the time to visit the villages in this area that offer a mix of mountains and beaches, such as Bermeo, Busturia, Mundaka, and Sukarrieta.
