Crossing the estuary as a family
A quiet and easy walk along the “corte de la ría” route, which is a straightforward route from the Errentería bridge to the Murueta point.
The outward route is along the left bank, while on the way back, halfway across, we cross the footbridge to walk upstream along the walkway on the right bank.
It’s an ideal place to start cycling with children and to enjoy the ecosystem of the estuary and its rich bird life.
Don’t leave your binoculars at home!

What can you see on the route?
From Punta de Murueta, you’ll enjoy splendid views of the Urdaibai marshes and its birdlife.
In Gernika-Lumo, you can visit the Tree of Gernika, the ceramic mural that replicates “Guernica” by Pablo Picasso, the Peace Museum, and the air-raid shelters.
